Director, Retail Strategy
Callahan Creek, a specialty retail brand agency, is seeking a Director of Retail Strategy to enhance and build its position within the retail category. The Director of Retail Strategy provides leadership on leading edge, creative retail strategies that drive shoppers to the store and motivate them to purchase within the store. The Director of Retail Strategy represents the agency at retail and shopper marketing conferences and builds credibility as a subject matter expert through writing and making presentations. Reports to the agency president.
Responsibilities
- Leads the development of strategic plans for retail clients to deliver a total brand experience through integrated traditional, digital and in-store strategies.
- Provides leadership on the implementation of strategic plans in the agency and with external partners.
- Teaches, coaches and mentors the agency team on all relevant disciplines of retail marketing.
- Participates in new business efforts with prospective retail clients by providing leadership and strategic direction on new business presentations.
- Builds Callahan Creek's reputation for retail marketing thought leadership through speaking at retail and shopper marketing conferences, writing articles and white papers, and blogging.
- Collaborates with other senior agency staff members on the development of strategic plans and making client and new business presentations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in marketing or related field; advanced degree a plus
- 15+ years of experience in retail marketing, either with a marketing firm/ad agency or as a corporate marketing executive at a regional/national retailer
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to make compelling presentations
Digital Marketing Services Director
Seeking a candidate with a minimum of 5-10 years of digital marketing and production management experience across a broad range of interactive disciplines in an agency environment. The Digital Marketing Services Director will be instrumental in helping expand the agency’s digital service offerings and in keeping pace with the rapid growth of digital tactics in clients’ media/marketing programs. Will lead our growing team of digital producers, ensuring innovative creative executions and leading-edge technology solutions. Responsible for managing productive collaboration between the agency’s creative and the digital services teams. Looking for a motivated self-starter who wants to make waves for our clients. Reports to EVP, Digital Strategy and Media Integration.
Ideal candidate will have extensive experience in:
- Management of complex data-driven web projects on multiple platforms, including e-commerce (must provide examples of web development that you have led from concept through execution, preferably for recognized regional/national brands)
- Interactive experience specific to retail marketing (online couponing, in-store tactics, retail-specific smart phone apps, etc.)
- Mobile marketing including m-commerce, SMS and smart phone app development
- Personnel management and client interface experience
Experience in these areas a plus:
- Hands-on skills in Adobe CS (Photoshop, Dreamweaver and CSS, Illustrator, Flash); audio and video production tools for the web; email broadcast systems; Google Analytics, Omniture and other metrics tools
- Development of online advertising and promotional campaigns including rich media and use of third-party ad serving
- Innovative social media experience; execution of social media tactics on major outlets (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, etc.)
- Management of broadcast email and CRM programs
- Best practices in user experience design
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
